GREAT FALLS, Va. – The Residence at Colvin Run earned IntegraCare’s Silver Level Award for its prompt handling of residents’ callbell requests during the fourth quarter of 2024.
When a resident needs assistance, whether it’s for routine help or an emergency, they can push a pendant they carry on them. During the quarter, The Residence at Colvin Run’s team responded in person to each call in an average of 3 minutes to attain Silver Level status for a second consecutive quarter.
IntegraCare-operated senior living communities’ efficient callbell systems handle more than potential crisis situations. They’re also the residents’ connection to the team for help with more routine needs.
“Callbells aren’t just about emergencies,” said Larry Rouvelas, CEO of IntegraCare. “They are for a wide variety of daily needs ranging from dressing, moving from place to place, or even getting a glass of water. We encourage our residents to ring the callbell when they need us.”
“Colvin Run’s assisted living residents rang the callbell 54 times per day, on average, and the team answered those calls quickly and reliably,” Rouvelas said. “Our communities offer an enjoyable quality of life, and when you need help, we’ll be there for you. Few things deliver on that promise more vividly than, when a resident pushes a call button for help, that we respond quickly and reliably. It’s about resident safety. And it’s about resident respect.”
A recent U.S. News & World Report survey highlighted this commitment to respect and responsiveness. As part of its annual Best of Senior Living recognition, the renowned publication gathered insights from residents and family members across 3,500 senior living communities nationwide, including 17 IntegraCare communities. Their feedback underscored the dedication to quality care and the peace of mind that comes from knowing help is always within reach.
“The people around me at Colvin Run provide examples of cleanliness, friendliness and kindness,” said Roberta, a resident who responded to the U.S. News survey. “It’s the most wonderful place for me.”
“The Ritz Carlton of facilities and a caring, attentive and wonderful staff,” added Robert, a family member of a resident, in the U.S. News survey. “Our loved one is literally beaming with joy to be there and has a reason to get up and enjoy the day.”
The community wants its families to know its callbell response performance. So it posts on its website a daily update: Yesterday’s Callbell Response Times.
